The sculpture series, entitled Ondas del Seno, was designed using the themes of agriculture and natural resources. The series is comprised of six glass and steel pieces. The frames are made of fabricated stainless steel. Each frame is 18 feet tall and has an installed sculptural glass panel incorporating a technique developed by the artist called refractive relief scultpure. A stainless-steel sculptural element at the top of each frame symbolizes a skyward feature. Sculptural glass at each frame's center depicts a scene below the horizon. The series is arranged in groupings of one, two, and three sculptures, to be placed at three different locations in the Skeen Hall courtyard. |

The title, Ondas del Seno, is Spanish for Sine Waves. A sine wave is a trigonometric function. It is a useful mathematical model for many natural and man-made phenomena such as light waves, sound waves, water ripples, and electronic signals. The three-dimensional surfaces in the glass imagery are generated with equations utilizing the sine function. |
